New Delhi: July 11, 2016 – All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) expresses its deep anguish and concern on the outbreak of violence in Kashmir after some heavily armed militants were killed during an encounter with our security forces in Kashmir, a couple of days back.
The violence let lose by the radical elements against Security forces, common people, administrative installations and civil infrastructure have created enormous instability in the valley at time when tourism season was just about picking up.
AIKS is even move concerned with the targeted stoning of Kashmiri Pandit houses in South Kashmir. There are reports suggesting that this minuscule population of our community has been threatened with grave consequences which is seen as a repeat of the 1989-90 situation. Such acts, coupled with the stoning of the buses carrying Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, is further proof of the separatists’ designs.
AIKS believes that the separatists’ repeated announcements welcoming the return of Kashmiri Pandits, is only a ploy to mislead Kashmiris. In actual fact, these pronouncements of the separatist have been provocative and poisonous. Their statements have led to wide-spread unrest, resulting in the above mentioned situation. It clearly establishes that these separatist elements are hell-bent on opposing the return of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, irrespective of their public posturing.
AIKS has submitted a memorandum to the PMO and the Union Home Ministry on July 11th, 2016. The memorandum has urged the Union and State Governments to take all measures to ensure the safety of Kashmiri Pandits presently in Valley.
A similar memorandum was also sent to the Chief Minister Jammu & Kashmir.
